Pastel Portrait is Exhibited, Judged Best of Show

Judge's written comment: "Nice handling of pastels - great subtle colors. Very free and flowing. Nice modeling of face, particularly eyes and mouth."
The painting won First Place then was judged "Best of Show" much to my utter amazement! "Free and flowing?" If you followed along with the demonstration, then you and I both know there were struggles and complications, and critical decisions whether the painting would survive - or hit the trash! And that can happen at some stage in almost every painting! What do we do? TIP: Turn it to face the wall for a few days, then make a fresh evaluation.
